How to control your iPhone from a Windows PC
Updated 22 October 2026 · AirMirror Pro 3.2.1
The short answer: install AirMirror Pro from the Microsoft Store, mirror your
iPhone to it over AirPlay, then click the iPhone window. Your PC's mouse becomes the iPhone's
pointer and your keyboard types on it.
It is free and wireless, and nothing gets installed on the iPhone. The PC connects to the
iPhone as a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, which iOS supports out of the box.
What you need
- A Windows 10 (version 1809) or Windows 11 PC with AirMirror Pro, free from the
Microsoft Store.
- Bluetooth that can act as a Bluetooth mouse. That means Bluetooth Low Energy
with the peripheral role. Most Bluetooth 5.0 adapters have it, and if yours does not, the app
says so instead of failing quietly.
- Your iPhone on the same Wi-Fi network as the PC, for the mirrored picture.
- Nothing on the iPhone. No app, no jailbreak, no cable.
Step by step
- Open AirMirror Pro and click Start Receiver.
- On the iPhone, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring and choose
AirMirror Pro. The iPhone's screen appears on your PC in about three seconds.
- Click the iPhone window. The first time, a checklist walks you through the next steps.
- Pair the iPhone with the PC: on the iPhone, open Settings → Bluetooth and
tap your PC's name while the iPhone window is open. If Windows asks on the PC whether to allow
the pairing, accept it within about 30 seconds.
- Turn on AssistiveTouch in Settings → Accessibility → Touch
→ AssistiveTouch. An iPhone only shows a mouse pointer while it is on.
- Click the iPhone window again. Your mouse and keyboard now drive the iPhone. Press
Esc to get your cursor back.
You only pair and turn on AssistiveTouch once. After that, clicking the iPhone window is all it
takes.
What you can do with it
- Move, click, drag and scroll, the same as with your finger on the phone.
- Type with your PC keyboard, in your own keyboard layout.
- Use Command shortcuts. Ctrl works as Command while you control the iPhone, so
Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V copy and paste on the phone.
- Give the cursor back at any time. Press Esc or switch to another window and
your cursor is back in Windows straight away. Nothing is captured system-wide.
If the pointer misbehaves
- It sticks on the floating button. In AssistiveTouch, turn off
Always Show Menu. The pointer catches on the button when it passes over it.
- It jumps from button to button. Turn off pointer snapping.
- The window says "Waiting for the iPhone over Bluetooth" while the iPhone already
shows the PC as connected. Click Reset Bluetooth in the iPhone window. It turns
the PC's Bluetooth off for a moment and back on, which reopens a link Windows left stuck, something
re-pairing does not do.

Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Mirroring and iPhone control are free, with no time limit. Pro is a one-time $5.99 for
unlimited recording and your iPhone's notifications on the PC. It is not needed for control.
Do I need to install anything on my iPhone?
No. The picture comes over AirPlay and the mouse and keyboard over Bluetooth, and both are built
into iOS.
Does it need a USB cable?
No. Everything is wireless: AirPlay over Wi-Fi for the screen, Bluetooth for the mouse and
keyboard.
Can I see my iPhone's notifications on the PC too?
With Pro, yes. The same Bluetooth pairing brings your iPhone's notifications to your PC, and you
can reply to texts in Messages without picking up the phone. You don't need to be mirroring for
that: AirMirror Pro just has to be open.
